The Fan Orbit ("we," "us," or "our") operates thefanorbit.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the password you set (or use a magic link to authenticate). We store your account tier (Free, Pro, or Hall of Fame) and the date your account was created.
Preferences. We store your selected favorite teams, active sport filters, color theme, and stories-per-sport setting. These are stored locally on your device and, if you have an account, synced to our servers.
Payment Information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, expiration date, or CVC on our servers. Stripe provides us with a transaction ID and confirmation of your payment tier. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Usage Data. We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics such as page views, feature usage (flat view vs. orbit view), sport popularity, and general device type (mobile vs. desktop). This data does not identify you personally.
Cookies & Local Storage. We use browser local storage to save your preferences (favorite teams, theme, view settings) so they persist between visits. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and provide a cookie consent mechanism for EU visitors.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Preferences stored in local storage persist until you clear your browser data. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our servers within 30 days.

The Fan Orbit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication through Supabase, and PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
